Historic and Modern Nyack meet in this ique multi-use building. The owners created a fabulous expanded second-floor residence, taking advantage of the river views. Until recently, 49 Burd was home to the iconic Squash Blossom store, a local legend for 50 years, offering authentic Native American jewelry and crafts. The mid-1800s foot housed a saddlery, where saddles, reins, etc. were repaired for travelers who stayed at the St George Hotel across the way. Exposed beams from the original attic space add charm. The large deck is a great place to gaze at the river and a prime location to watch Fireworks on the Fourth in nearby Memorial Park. Owner/occupants or tenants will be one block from Memorial park or one block from Nyack’s fantastic shops, clubs and restaurants. And, they can still have a sweet, private urban backyard with access from the deck and from the first floor!
