I’m looking for a subletter to live with me in my 2 bedroom apartment. I’ve lived here for several years and I absolutely love this apartment. My long-time roommate recently moved out, and I am looking for a short-term subletter. There would be the possibility of joining the lease if that’s what you’re looking for and the vibe is right!
The bedroom is a beautiful, southeast facing room that gets incredible light throughout the day. It’s furnished (bed, mattress, mirror, nightstand, lamp, desk, chair), but if you wanted to move your own stuff in, we could talk about that.
The apartment itself is on the second floor of a small brownstone on a cute and very friendly residential street. There’s a large living room with a couch, projector, record player, and dining table. The windows overlooking the backyards of our block so it’s super quiet. There’s a fully stocked kitchen. And our bathroom has a tub.
The location is amazing. We’re a 2min walk from the Nostrand A/C and a 15min walk from both the Franklin 2,3,4,5 and the Bedford Nostrand G. There are two grocery stores within a block of the apartment (one doesn’t even require crossing the street), tons of restaurants, bars, a ladromat, and pharmacists. We’re a short walk from Prospect Park and a very easy bike ride to Bushwick, Williamsburg, and the Manhattan Bridge if you’re into cycling.
I’m in my 30s and I teach at a college outside the city, so I’m gone 3-4 days during the week. At least 1-2 days a week I work from home from my room.
I don’t have any pets, and I would be open to a small pup so long as they’re not too loud (that’s my landlord’s one parameter for pets). No cats as I’m allergic! And I’m looking for a solo roommate, no couples!
**Photos of bedroom feature my current roommate’s decor: everything but the basic furnishings will be gone when you move in!
** TV in the living room is gone and has since been replaced with a projector and projector screen that hangs in front of the kitchen entryway, it’s great.
