In 2020 La Bonne Vie was bought by Renaissance Bay, an out-of-state corporation at least partially owned by Jared Kushner’s family conglomerate.

Immediately, they began plans for renovations — individual apartment renovations came at a steep price — yet WE LONGTIME TENANTS were/are FORCED TO PAY FOR all those renovations, while OUR APARTMENTS ARE STILL, TO THIS DAY, VINTAGE 1975.
We had TWO increases of 11-percent; in 2020 & 2021.
Then, in 2022, they demanded A TWENTY-TWO PERCENT RENT INCREASE.
That’s 44% MORE, IN JUST THREE YEARS!
Did I mention that these increases are FOR THE OLD, UN-RENOVATED, 1975 APARTMENTS?
In 2023 they upped the rent by ANOTHER 14%.
Realize; that over four years’ time, they have INCREASED THE RENT BY 58%!
For 2024 — ANOTHER 13%
For 2025 yet ANOTHER 13%!
EIGHTY-FOUR PERCENT, over six years (2020 – 2025)
Do you know ANYONE who can afford such housing cost increases?
Do you know anyone WHOSE INCOME HAS RISEN BY THIS proportion?
What BENEFITS have these astronomical increases brought? None, really.
Some years’-overdue exterior paint — no quality-of-life changes.

As you read them, realize that almost all of the good reviews were posted not long after the takeover, AND were written primarily by the Complex Owners themselves.
Same wording and fake praises.
Also — EVERY Manager response is to: “Call us, or come on in, and we’ll talk about it…”
Notice that NO solutions or happy endings ARE EVER POSTED, though.
Stay away — you’ll save yourself much grief.
