The basement is mostly storage and has our washer/dryer that we share with our neighbor, C. There’s also a very large private outdoor patio.
The Economics & Logistics:
For this room, the rent is $2,660 plus shared utilities (which is roughly $125-$200/pp)
The room will be available March 1st, or potentially sooner if desired
COUPLES: We are a very commity oriented house, so we are comfortable with sharing space! However, there are only 2 bathrooms, and all the commal space is shared, so we have decided on an additional $500 fee for a full time couple – open for discussion, so please reach out.
PETS: We currently don’t have any, but would be open to discussing on a case by case basis if someone would like to bring a pet.

E:
I’m a male in my early 30s from Colorado originally and stayed there through college before moving to Seattle for 3 years and then SF for the past 5 years before recently moving to New York to start exploring my second career. I used to work in Tech as a product manager and I’m now in school working towards becoming a Physical Therapist. I feel believably lucky to have fod such a great place, and more importantly, incredible people to share it with. I got used to the mild west coast temperatures so I’m excited to sweat it out this summer and freeze my ass off in the winter.
I’m an avid skier, cyclist, slackliner, and camper, and will talk your ear off about my latest podcast/book discoveries if you let me. I do yoga, acro-yoga, animal flow and exercise as well as enjoy meditating (when I can get myself to sit down).
I’m Jewish and currently exploring what that means to me and looks like in my adult life. I should also mention that I’m very extroverted and love cooking and hosting Shabbat dinners in addition to other impromptu gatherings. This is something that I share in common with B.. speaking of which:
B:
I’m a male in my 40s and have lived in NYC for 15 years. I am a former corporate director and software engineer. I’ve built commity in Brooklyn arod rock climbing and motaineering, conscious kink (particularly shibari), and sailing (all rope disciplines!). I keep a sailboat in Port Washington where I spend many summer and fall days. I’ve spent the last four winters escaping to warmer climates — Taiwan/Medellin/Oaxaca — although in 2024/25 will be staying closer to home at The Church. I love cooking and baking, experiential theatre, and burner-adjacent festivals including CAMP and Love Burn.
E&B:
We both absolutely love this home and the commity we are co-creating arod it. We’re looking for someone that derstands the limitations and upsides of shared living. Our household rs on open commication and mutual respect, plus a healthy dose of laughter. (Codew0rd: 42) We both live very independent lives, but also spend a good amot of time together, so why not enjoy that or even look forward to it?!?
We both rarely drink aside from the very occasional glass of wine, but we still have a liquor cart and respect others’ choices to do so.
We are both quite busy and tend to occasionally travel in the summer and winter. During the weeks, things are usually very calm except for the occasional date, small dinner party, or movie. On weekends we’ll frequently host people, go to events, or are out and about. We don’t always do things together, but we treat the home and our respective friendships as part of a single commity, which means sharing the space and integrating activities in a welcoming way.
