A bit about us:
We both lived in South Carolina our whole lives, we met 2 years ago, and our 2nd anniversary is in December 2024, this month. I was in my first apartment just after meeting her, and she was living with parents prior. Then together we moved into an apartment in Ladson, SC in November 2023 in which we completed a 12 month lease in November 2024. We had a guarantor at the time for that apartment, that was the only way we got in. We do not have a guarantor now.
We just moved to the New York area and we are currently staying in a hotel in East Rutherford, NJ.
We both have jobs in Industry City, in Brooklyn. My pay is $17.75/hr. Her pay is $16/hr + tips (with tips estimated $25/hr).
**As for our credit scores**
– Hers is new and she just started building her credit earlier in 2024, she only has a credit card of $500 so that is why her score is still low, it’s slowly growing.
– As for my score: I have had credit since 2018. My first credit card had a limit of $13,000 when I was 18 years old. I also at the same time took out a personal loan of $8,000 to get a nice car. I wracked up my credit card and maxed it in 2 years, and I kept spending more than I had so I never paid off the loan, although I did sell my car years back. I carried that $21,000 debt with me for years as I only ever paid minimums. Then in mid 2023 at my first apartment, I ran into an emergency in which I could not work for over 1 month to take care of family; I ended up not paying my loan or credit card to save up all I could to pay rent. Unfortately I ran into issue after issue and I prioritized paying rent instead of the card and loan, and I ended up defaulting on both my credit card and loan for non-payment for months. I mana to still make every rent payment, and even since then my situation has started to improve. However eventually my loan and credit card for $21,000 combined got sent to a charge-off so my credit dropped arod 150 points.
So that’s the deal with our credit. We have good, broken rental history, but I have terrible credit from 2 char off accots.
I am more than happy to meet anyone, call, or discuss things further. Please text me at the number provided, or email me first.
